Art Projects If your child is in grade 7 or 8 art this is the page for you! Current projects will be posted here so that your child can keep up with their work even if they are home sick.
Grade 9 students will have their art projects sent directly to their Office 365 Class Notebook. An email will be sent home if a new project has been added.

Grade 7
Project One:
1. Pick 1 of these themes and draw images to represent that theme. Ocean, rivers, farmland, cities, space, rainforest or foods.
2. Draw your images as outlines and not lines. Try to fill the negative space.
3. Use a marker to outline your images and fill the images with wavy parallel lines in the same colour.
4. Use a contrasting colour to fill the background with parallel wavy lines.
Important: Keep your lines very close together.
Project One:

2. Write a story (real or fiction) using a minimum of 10 of your pictographs and petroglyph images.
3. Position your paper either landscape or portrait and write your story from left to right and down the page.
4. Draw your images as outlines and not lines. Try to fill up the negative space.
5. Use natural dyes (beet juice, tea, mustard, crushed berries, etc.) to paint your story.
6. Share your story with a friend and Mrs. P.
Project Two:
1. Choose one of the animals from the 7 sacred teachings or grandfathers: turtle (truth), sabe (honesty), bison (respect), beaver (wisdom), eagle (love), wolf (humility) or bear (courage).
2. Draw your animal using Norval Morrisseau's woodland style. Use the internet to study this style.
3. Color your picture using markers. Do your black outline last.
